What do you get when you cross your favorite sandwich with your favorite breakfast bread? The most delicious BLT Bagel you've ever had in your life!
- 2 bagels
- 2-4 tablespoon mayonaisse
- salt and pepper
- 6 slices thick cut bacon cooked
- 1 large tomato or 2 small tomatoes, sliced
- ¼ head iceberg lettuce
Start by cooking your bacon in whatever method you choose - my favorite is to bake it. See the instructions in the field below.
While the bacon bakes, toast your bagels spread them with the 1-2 tablespoons of mayo each and then season with salt and pepper.
Add half of the lettuce, tomato, and cooked bacon to each sandwich.
Close them up, and enjoy!
To bake bacon: preheat your oven to 400. Take a sheet pan and cover it with foil for easy cleanup, then set a cooling rack over the sheet. Line your bacon on the cooling rack, and bake for 15-20 minutes depending on how thick the bacon is, and how crispy you want it. Start checking it after 15 minutes.
If you don't have a cooling rack, you can put the bacon directly on the foil, but you'll need to flip it halfway through to ensure it bakes evenly on both sides. </p>
